Maintaining good habits is one way that is not only effective for physical and mental health of kids but also for their overall personality development. Following steps can help you to maintain good health and habits of your kids.

Be Supportive

First thing is to be calm and never even think about shouting at your kid. Suppose, you are awaken to a bad habit of your 6 years old kid and need to control it. All right, sit and think for a time what are the most convincing reasons, you can give your loved one that can be practiced easily. For example, you may ask your kids that when I was younger in your age I was caught in various disease because of this habit. Next time, when you see your child, busy in that habit again, lightly address your child and give those reasons which you have gathered in your mind before. By applying this practice, don’t make your mind ready for your kid to avoid that habit but give time to make him a realization. Next time if you again watch your kid following same action, don’t get frustrated instead, repeat the action again by giving more motivation to your kid.

Avoid Punishments

Always make yourself ready to educate your kids towards maintaining good habits which are good for their health. Never go for taking steps if you have less control over your anger. As, you are in anger you may punish your kid or exhaust your frustration on your kid, resulting misconceptions in your kid mind which will be really ineffective not only for your kid but also for your whole family. Be calm and feel relaxed because kids are in the age of growing, so give them maximum time to develop clear and positive ideas about everything.

Give them Confidence

Confidence is one of the bases of personality development of your kids. They need confidence from their elders at every stage of their life. So giving confidence also works here when you need to guide and teach your kids to avoid bad habits. Probably, it is the easiest way to teach your children.
How can you give them confidence? There are different ways like letting them taking their part in family matters which you think they should be involved in. Keep a very friendly behavior with kids, be frank and make best efforts to eliminate their hesitations. Steps like these make your kids always agreed with your opinion. Hence, you can easily guide your kids to avoid bad habits which are necessary for their health and growth.

Alternative Choice

Some kids are too consistent in their bad habits and really reluctant to avoid them. In such conditions, it is hard to control yourself. But instead of wasting your energy on such frustration, let your mind to take initiative to get a solution. You may suggest an alternative choice to kids which will work on both sides. It will let your kids avoid that bad habit and at the same time it will raise the passion about good habits which is good for their health and growth. For example your kid consistently spreads pencil colors on house walls and in spite of your efforts he is constant with spreading colors. Rather than frustrating, encourage him for drawing and painting and if he shows interests then also arrange an equipped space for drawing and painting.

Awards and Gifts

Never stop your efforts to make your kids healthier and educated. If they also follow your instructions then reward them with gifts and encourage them to be more educated. Remember, awards and gifts may lead your kids on both positive and negative tracks. So, awards and gifts which you decide to buy for your kids must be positive for their health and growth.
For instance, you may buy gifts like toys which often have bad effects on your child’s personality. Movies of favorite characters of kids will be effective way to educate kids. Books are best choice but children are not readers and therefore they will show less interest, however you can buy medical comic books or graphic novel explaining diseases to kids which are specially introduced in market for disease awareness for kids.

AAP academy in United States strongly recommends:

“NO TV for kids under 2 and an average of 2 hours of quality TV programs for kids older than 2″

Other than this, kids can use that time in other active like reading books, enjoying sports with friends or family shopping. Such activities surely limit their screen time and keep them healthier and developing a positive sense. Here are some practical directions for you to help you to limit screen time of kids.

Reducing kids’ TV and Gaming hours:

Foremost, never keep TV’s in your kids’ rooms. Keeping TV’s in your kids’ room will surely waste their time and also make it difficult for them to involve in other activities which are vital for their health and growth. Also, make it practice to unplug your TV when kids are busy in completing their school assignments. Another way to reduce kids’ TV or gaming time is always switching off your TV during meal time because watching TV or playing video games during meal adds more minutes to their meal time which is not a positive sign for their growth.

Fixing up your Own Interaction with TV:

One of the best examples you can apply on yourself is to spend a limited time on TV which lets your kids easily practice. Since, your kids get themselves busy in activities by following your life styles so you can set a good example for them.

Plan a Fix Time for Family TV Entertainment:

Discuss with all of your family members including kids to keep a suitable TV and gaming time and then fix up the time for family TV entertainment. Make that time a schedule and put on any common place of your house to be easily viewed. Also take responsibility of turning off your TV when the time is over.

Having Reviews of Video Games and TV Shows:

Always have a review and check whether those TV shows and video games which kids will be entertained from, are reliable for their health and growth or not. You may have an idea by trailers or from your co-workers and friends etc. Also share your thoughts with your kids about TV shows like you can say, “Do you think it was a nice end?” or “what will you do if you were replaced for that character?”

Give them Alternate Choices:

If you are facing toughness to control the screen time of your kids after struggling enough then offer alternate choices to your kids. Try out puzzles or cards, also hide and seeks or riddles.

Be a Computer Educated Person:

Keep finding ways about how you can cut down the inappropriate use of computer and internet especially in young kids.

There are many useful and entertaining online websites, some of them are related to kids’ health, some are education related, some are about disease awareness for kids, and some are for entertainment purposes. However, kids will prefer those which fulfill the awareness purposes in an entertaining way.

If your kid eats healthy food, active in exercises and has age-suited weight then he is living a healthy life. Living a healthy life means that your kid’s body works naturally, he stays pleasant and is active in his life.

Majorly parents and teachers seemed to be responsible for their kids’ health but kids can also take some actions to be healthier and to prevent diseases. There are too many ways to teach and explain children to be healthy and fit in their lives however some are common ways and kids are more comfortable with them.

Give Fruits, Vegetables, Water and Milk

Never let them eat excessive food

Spend less time with TV

Often, kids like to eat their favorite foods but eating with mixed arrangement of food is more beneficial for kid’s health. It is important for you to remember the food requirements of kid’s body according to his age and weight. So if you know what is the proper diet for kids to be healthier and disease-free then you can easily allow your kids to eat sufficient food.

Enjoying Sports

Explore what sports activities your kid loves to engage with. Some kids like to play badminton as a passion, some like to swim, some enjoy soccer and so on. This is the responsibility of parents to watch kids whether they perform their sports activities regularly or not. If not then help them to save time to be participate in their favorite sports. Also guide them further if they like to participate in competitions monthly or on events.

Spend less time with TV

Examine how much time your kids spend on watching movies, playing video games and using their room computers. Spending excessive time sitting in front of TV or computer means insufficient time for kids to perform physical activities. Fix minimum two and maximum three hours on daily basis for kids to enjoy with TV and computer. Don’t include time that your kid spends on computer in school.

Teach and Explain Diseases Awareness for Kids

You should must help and encourage kids to be healthy but at the same time you should also take actions to prevent diseases in children. There are different kinds of diseases which attack kids depending on:

What is their living area

How is their home environment

What people they interact with

It is rather more important for you to prevent disease in kids than any other action you take for health and growth of your kids. The most effective step you can take is to educate disease awareness for kids. You can educate children for medical and health awareness by:

Find some famous DVDs related to medical and health awareness with kids favorite cartoon characters.

Provide story books of Scooby doo, ninja turtles, Warner brothers etc

Provide them books which are simple and easy to understand for example graphic novels explaining diseases to kids.

You can also find medical comic books store for kids where you can buy medical comic books for your kids.

When you ask a child which superhero they would most like to be you can guarantee that Batman would be a popular answer. The chant of ‘Dinner, dinner, dinner, dinner-BATMAN!’ is synonymous with children’s playgrounds everywhere.
Most children (and a great deal of adults as well!) would get a real kick out of dressing up in Batman costumes. You can rest assured that anyone turning up at fancy-dress parties wearing Batman costumes would be hard pushed to find many people that asked who they were supposed to be.

The famous character, who started out as ‘The Bat Man’, first appeared in ‘Detective Comics’#27 in 1939. In 1940 DC Comics went on to give ‘Batman’ his own self-titled publication. Since then ‘Batman’ has gone on to become one of the world’s most famous fictional characters. In May of this year it will be seventy years since his first outing as ‘The Caped Crusader’!

Batman has enjoyed a phenomenal success since his conception, not just being restricted to newspapers, books, comics and graphic novels, but going on to star in a string of hit TV shows and movies spanning over forty years. His character has evolved through several changes including the rather camp tongue-in cheek mid-sixties series starring Adam West. In many ways, however, he has also stayed the same. The Batman costumes have remained much the same. There has always been the dark and mysterious side to Batman and the nineteen-eighties saw a return to this darker image with a shift in style evident in his comics and the Tim Burton movie.

Although our hero is not blessed with any strange or mystical powers like most of his counter- parts his life is still very much full of action and adventure. Like most superheroes Batman has a rather drab alter-ego (in this case it is Bruce Wayne) and a trusty side-kick known simply as Robin.

Over the years Batman has gained a large cult following and he has become a household name. Even many of his arch-enemies are much heard of such as The Riddler, The Joker and The Green Goblin. Because of the familiarity of all things Batman it would not be unusual to overhear sons, fathers and even grandfathers discussing the hero’s weaponry, foes and adventures with great earnest.

Over the years the Batman franchise has grown and grown. The range of toys, comics, sweets, Batman costumes and posters is a formidable one. Not to forget the seemingly endless movies, the most recent of these being ‘The Dark Knight’ with Christian Bale playing Batman for a second time.

And so if you are considering what to wear for a fancy- dress party then Batman costumes make a great choice. Donning an eye mask, cloak and tights for an evening to go out dressed as ‘The Caped Crusader’ is bound to be great fun! Plus your Batman costumes will be instantly recognisable.

Perhaps you have a friend or partner who would consider accompanying you in costume as Robin.
